Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada. The early work of her has been described as extending beyond "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated influences from electronic music, hip-hop, and rock. She often uses science fiction and feminist themes in the lyrics. The singer has released five studio albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver but moved to Montreal at the age of 2000. Grimes started releasing her music in solo fashion from the mid 2000s. Two albums were released through Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa in 2010. The album was released in 2012 and Visions is her 3rd studio release. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" which earned her an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in 2015. It was highly praised by critics and a variety of publications voted it the best album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Beyond music, Grimes had a voice character in the 2020 action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the music competition game program Alter Ego.
